How to Care for Your Dricast Waterproof Cast Cover

Follow these steps to keep your reusable Dricast cover in good condition and your cast or dressing dry.

1. Cover any open wound first

The cover is not sterile and is designed for protection from water only. Never place it over an open wound. Make sure any open wound has a sterile covering before use.

2. Only wear it in the water

Wear your Dricast cover only while showering, bathing or swimming. Do not walk with a leg cover on, as this can weaken it and cause leaks.

3. Put a towel on the shower floor

The cover becomes slippery when wet. Place a towel on the shower tray or tiled floor, taking care not to block the drain, and take extra care with leg covers.

4. Avoid sharp objects

Keep the cover away from any sharp objects that could pierce it.

5. Limit use to 15 to 20 minutes

Use the cover for no more than 15 to 20 minutes at a time to avoid condensation building up inside.

6. Dry it naturally between uses

Let the cover dry naturally, out of direct light, for about 2 hours between uses.

7. Store it in a cool, dry place

Store the cover in a cool, dry place away from any direct light source.

What you need: Dricast waterproof cast cover, Sterile wound covering (for open wounds), Towel.

CAUTION:

  • The product becomes slippery when wet. Ensure extra care is taken when wearing leg models to avoid slipping. Use of a towel on the floor of the shower tray and tile floor is recommended (avoid blocking the water outlet/drain and causing a flood)

  • This product contains natural rubber latex which may cause allergic reactions in some people

  • Keep out of reach of children – ensure adult supervision for use with children

  • Correct use of Dricast Covers should keep wounds and injuries dry in most all cases. However, 100% protection cannot be guaranteed, if medical advice requires the wound/injury does not become wet under any circumstances, consult your physician before using the product

  • The product is NOT STERILE. It is designed for protection from water only. DO NOT PLACE OVER AN OPEN WOUND. Ensure any open wound is covered by a sterile covering before use

  • The product has to fit tightly to the skin to ensure water does not leak in. If however circulation becomes restricted, remove cover and contact supplier for instructions on how to enlarge the opening
